The Australian Geoscience Council: Empowering Future Geoscientists

Sandi Occhipinti, representing AGC.

The Australian Geoscience Council (AGC), the Peak Council of Geoscientists in Australia, is renewing its partnership with CoRE. With a membership of over 8000 industry, government, and academic professionals, AGC's continued support of CoRE underscores its commitment to advancing STEM education and nurturing the next generation of geoscientists.

Unlocking Potential through Education

Sandi Occhipinti, representing AGC, highlighted the significance of CoRE's mission, stating, "CoRE's link with the wonderful enthusiasm of young, budding inventors, scientists, engineers - young students who are yet to realise their full potential." She emphasised the importance of initiatives like CoRE in tapping into the hidden potential of students and exposing them to the field of Earth Sciences. Without such programs, many students may never realise their ability to contribute positively to the environment, sustainability, and community development.

Supporting Innovative Learning Initiatives

At the core of AGC's partnership with CoRE is the shared goal of promoting Earth Sciences and inspiring future generations to pursue geoscience careers. Through support for CoRE's innovative programs like the CoRE Learning Model and Gamifiying Earth Sciences, AGC aims to empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to make a meaningful impact in their communities and the world at large.

Fostering Geoscience Excellence

Working alongside CoRE, AGC has witnessed firsthand the transformative effect of engaging young minds in geoscience. By providing opportunities for students to explore, innovate, and connect with industry professionals, CoRE is helping to shape the future of the geoscience workforce and foster a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Renewing Commitment to STEM Education

The renewed partnership between AGC and CoRE signifies a continued commitment to excellence in STEM education and the advancement of geoscience in Australia. Together, we are paving the way for a brighter future, where young individuals are empowered to make a positive difference in the world through their passion for Earth Sciences.
